Chlamydia is the most coarse sexually transmitted disease in the United States. It is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, an organism that is transmitted straight through vaginal or anal sex. Chlamydia is in effect treated with antibiotics, and symptoms regularly disappear within two weeks. Both partners should be treated for the condition, regardless of who is infected.
